What is a silly mid-on in cricket?

Baseball translation: charging the batter on a bunt, but permanently

An extremely close catching position a few feet from the batter on the leg side, waiting for the ball to pop off bat or pad. 'Silly' = dangerously close; it is NOT the ordinary mid-on run-saver.
